We are excited to share our vision of gospel centered learning with you and hope it will strengthen you and your family.

At Keystone Education we teach a way of learning by faith, where Jesus Christ is the center.  His word, teachings and principles are at the foundation of every topic and subject.  He can be found in every aspect of life, “ALL thing denote there is a Christ”.   It focuses on personal revelation, skills, and ambitions.  It is a place of exploration through scripture, symbolisms, signs and patterns.  A place to learn how to recognize, listen to and follow inspiration.  A place where love and respect are abundant.

There are 5 steps in the learning process.  Together they are the cycle of any type of learning
In Keystone Education we explain, explore and examine each of these steps in great detail.

    • Sharon, I would be happy to talk with you on the phone, 801-709-1899. What is it that makes you feel so overwhelmed right now? I’m looking into putting it on the web next semester if that is something that would help you.

Tresta, I am wondering if you might have some ideas for me. I have a 13 yr old who I don’t know what to do with. He is very smart but very unwilling to have me as his mentor. We have tried having him report to Dad and he still didn’t do anything he was asked to. I have let him set his own goals and tell us how often and when he would like to study certain things. But he has never kept any of his commitments. So we put him in K12 public school at home this year, because it was free and he would be reporting to someone other than his parents. He has been better to actually do schoolwork this year, there has been less fighting generally between him and me, although he still is very unwilling to obey in other areas like getting his chores done on time. He told me the other day he wants to go to public school next year because he feels like he is already having to do boring public school work (K12 is very conveyor belt, regurgitation of knowledge type stuff) but without the benefit of being with other kids his age. He wants a peer group. We are in an area with very few LDS youth, no other boys his age in our area, but there are a few homeschooled LDS girls here. I would love to have a commonwealth type school, or a teen group, or something just like what you are doing here, I think he would love it, too, having a chance to lead and be in a group of peers, and do something inspiring. Whenever I think of trying to start something like this, I run into two obstacles. First is the small amount of teens we know who homeschool, second is the fact that if I am running it, then I would be his teacher again, and he won’t listen to me. I know this is a relationship issue, I have been working through that pretty much since he was a baby, we have always had trouble. I know there is work to do there. But in the mean time, I really want to find an educational solution that would be better for him. Any thoughts?
