The Principle Effect Class

What if we didn’t study by subject and learned through patterns and principles only? How would school be different?

I am starting up my Principle Effect Class. This will be a monthly, four-hour online webinar/class for parents and youth teaching how to place Jesus Christ as the foundation of every subject and teaching.
We will take a principle or characteristic of God each month and study it throughout other subjects.

You will learn how to:
*teach Jesus Christ at the foundation of all learning
*teach Jesus Christ as the beginning and the ending of all learning
*use the stories from the lives of ancient historians and mathematicians
*find patterns and principles in nature and in your personal life
*increase your relationships with your children

There are many curricula and classes teaching you the individual subjects, this class will teach you how all subject are ONE and how to find the principles and patterns within the whole (all subjects).

Constructing a Universe

How do you construct a universe?  What do you begin with?   A POINT!!  🙂

Everything begins with a point!!  otherwise it would be pointless! 🙂  Pointless means without a center to hold it together.

Now open up a math compass and with the point construct a circle around the point.  Now you have begun the construction of a universe.  Universe mean “one turn”, one complete turn around a point.

In this video, at the 29 minute mark, I introduce you to the circle, the almond and the triangle; he first three shapes of  the universe.   This is an event I had in February 2012.  I got the drawings from a book called, “The Beginners Guide to Constructing the Universe” and the principles from “Increase in Learning.” Enjoy!

What was the principle of the almond shape?

Telestial Education

Telestial Education is the education is like the Light of the STARS (D&C 76:82)

Purpose:  get a job!,  to get gain!  (see Helaman 7:21)

Method: competition pressure, stress, force, shame, grades and honors, fear, confusion, deception, job training, indoctrinated, little light/truth, entertainment centered.

Teaching Process: The Philosophies of men;  It is the teaching the philosophies of men in pieces

Results/Dangers:   Lack of self-esteem, materialism, greed, fear, “not my responsibility”, lust, power, dishonesty, compartmentalization (blunts the spirit), desensitization, job training.  False pride:  pride in their own accomplishments not in divine light

Responsibility:  The school, the government, others.

Examples:  The pioneers, “But behold, they have not learned to be obedient to the things which I required at their hands, but are full of all manner of evil, and do not impart  of their substance, as becometh saints, to the poor and afflicted among them; And are not united according to the union required by the law of the celestial kingdom;”  D&C 105:3-4

Education within the Home and the Temple

There were two revelations given to Joseph Smith one for the temple dedication and the other for families and the education of Zion.  They were given at totally different times and audience however, both used exactly the same words.

“And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach  one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books [those you are lead to by the spirit] words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith.

“Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;”  (see D&C 109:7-8 and D&C 88:118-119)

God is teaching us that the organization and education of the home and family is just as important as organizing the temple.

What is the purpose for Education?  1) to become a capable person, 2) to fulfill our divine purpose, 3) for experience, and 4) to help our children meet the Savior 5) to become a Zion people – love everyone, including self all the time.

Laws and Principles

True Natural Laws are dependable and constant.  They are not man-made.  Joseph Smith said, “God has made certain decrees which are fixed and immovable; for instance, God set the sun, the moon, and the stars in the heavens, and gave them their laws, conditions and bounds, which they cannot pass…they all move in perfect harmony in their sphere and order.”  (Teaching of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg. 197)

Gravity is a natural law or a law of nature.  It follows God decree perfectly, it can never change.  You don’t have to believe in it. You don’t have to understand it.  In fact, you don’t even have to like it.  But you are still subject to it.  Everything is subject to it.  Suppose you choose not to believe in the law of gravity and that you are going to believe in positive thinking.  So you go to the top of a building after you have prepared mentally, you believe with all your might, you step off.  Once again gravity proves to be true and positive thinking didn’t work.  Why?  Isn’t positive thinking a true principle?  Yes, but that is just it.  It is a principle.  Principles only work when applied in harmony with the Natural Laws.

In the book Hidden Treasures, Leslie Householder explains a law as “something absolute, something unbreakable, and something that just ‘is.’  You cannot break a law; you can only break yourself against it.  If you violate the law, you will most definitely be sorry you did, and unfortunately there is no mercy if you’re ignorant.  The consequences will come, regardless of your understanding of the law.”  (Leslie Householder, Hidden Treasures, pg. 15)  Boyd K. Packer said it this way, “Laws  govern the physical universe with such constancy and precision that once man has discovered them, he can, by their effect, demonstrate their existence with unfailing accuracy.”  (Boyd K. Packer, “The Great Plan of Happiness”, BYU D&C Church History Symposium, 10 Aug 1993)

A principle is a truth, a doctrinally based guideline for the righteous exercise of moral agency.  Principles are subsets or components of broader gospel truths.  Principles provide direction.  Doctrines and principles work together with laws.  Natural laws govern the universe.  God never changes them and he lives by them himself.  Just as our spirit and our body work together as a soul, principles and laws work together.  The physical world and the spiritual world are interconnected.  Monte Nyman and Charles Tate said, “There is law and order and precision in the universe that is awesome!  What is physical interconnects with the spiritual; what is spiritual, or eternal, or moral resonates with the physical.  We respond in our very souls to the order in the universe.  How we respect those interconnections will have profound effect upon our happiness or sorrow.”  (Monte S. Nyman and Charles D. Tate, “Jacob through Words of Mormon: To Learn with Joy”, BYU Religious Studies Center, 1990, 15).

We must learn the laws and learn to work with them.  Choosing true doctrine and correct principles in harmony with the laws of the universe can only bring happiness and joy to our lives.

God the Father, the point and the number 1

Many years ago I took an institute class called, “Rituals and Symbolism” taught by Brother Young.  Through this class I gained my basic understanding of numbers.  They became a fascination with me.  Numbers are found throughout the scriptures and with an understanding of their symbolism you gain greater understanding of the scriptures, the gospel and the principles and doctrines.  My testimony has grown tremendously through my studies.  I want to share with you the number 1.

The number 1 is the symbol for God the Father, it is called the Monad.  It represents wholeness, unity and omnipresence.  God is the center of all creation, learning,  growing, everything!!

Scriptures that describe the number 1 include:

Ezek 34:23  I will set up one shepherd over them

Matt 19:17  there is none good but one that is, God

Rom 3:30 it is one God, which shall justify

Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ

1 Cor. 8:6 there is but one God and one Lord Jesus Christ

John 17:3 – everything comes out of one and seeks unity or oneness

Unity or the number 1 is  the parent of all numbers.       11111111X111111111=12345678987654321

Unity exists in all things yet remains in apparent.   Any number when multiplied by unity remains itself (3X1=3)The same is true when unity dived into any number (5/1=5).  Unity always preserves the identity of all it encounters.  We might say that “one” waits quietly within each form without stirring, motionless, never mingling yet supporting all.  Unity is the universe’s common denominator.  The ancient Gnostics called it the “silence force.”  Everything strives in one way or another toward unity.

A circle represents no beginning and no end.  A circle starts with a single point which cannot be defined.  It has no height, length or depth, it is endlessly small.  From the point we draw a line or radius and then the circumference or the circle.  The circumference is endless, never-ending.  Thus, a circle has no beginning and no end.  Eternal.

A circle represents the limited and unlimited in one body.   Every circle is identical.  They only differ in size.  Each circle you see or create is a profound statement about the transcendental nature of the UNI-verse.  Expanding from the “nowhere” of its dimensionless center to the infinitely many points of its circumference, a circle implies the mystery of nothing to everything.  Its radius and circumference are never both measurable at the same times.  The radius can be measure with a whole, rational unit (point A to point B), the circumference, on the other hand, is an irrational decimal, known as “pi” = 3.1415926…  Thus, a circle represents the limited and unlimited in one body.  God follows certain universal laws but his power and influence is limitless.

The circle is a universal symbol of an ideal perfection and divine state that always exists around and within us.  Giotto, an ancient artist, drew a single perfect circle to show his artistic abilities.  I AM, a word made of the first, middle and final letters of the Sanskrit alphabet, represents the circle’s three parts; the center, the radius and the circumference (our own spiritual center, mental reaches, and outer material body).

Principles of the circle include:

1.  Equal expansion in all directions.  Observe a tree trunk, a raindrop, ripples, splashes, craters, bubbles, flowers exploding stars each of the expand in equal directions from the point.  As you open your math compass remember metaphorically you are opening light, space, time and power in all directions.  The opening of the compass represents the first manifestation of God’s light illuminating and vibrating the universe into existence, as expanding states of self-awareness, which we call “nature.”  Nature’s forms represent invisible forces made visible, “Let there be light.”

2.  Cycles are omnipresent.  Cycles exists everywhere and at all times.  There is never a moment when we are not involved in a cycle of some kind or another.   All cycles have rising and declining phases.  Some examples include:  wheels, doors, universe, rock cycle, life cycles, atoms and molecules, circulatory system, gears, hearing, day and night, life cycle of stars, cultures, circulations, circuits, orbits, vibrations and rhythms.  Even solid objects are moving so fast we see only smooth surface, Think of  ceiling fan going so fast it looks like one solid object.  All senses are fooled by rapid cyclic vibration

3.  Maximized efficiency.  The area within a circle is more than the area within any other shape of the same size.  This is why many things are round:  shields, ring roads, cups and cans, plates, pizza (more toppings on a round shape than a square), round tables, etc.  A manhole cover is round because any other shape would fall in on itself, it is more efficient.  God is efficient in each creation, in everything He does.

God is the center, He is Omnipresent, He is Eternal, He is the Parent of All Creation.  Unity, the number one, the point and the circle all describe or witness that there is a God.  All of His Characteristics are the same characteristics of this shape.  The study of numbers is a great way to learn the attributes and characteristics of our Father in Heaven, His plan and His creations.  I testify that  everything proves there is a God and that He is our Father, the parent of ALL creation.
